LASH LIFT PRE-CARE + AFTERCARE
Beautiful, long-lasting results begin with the right preparation. Please follow the guidance below to ensure your lashes are clean, healthy and ready for your treatment.
Arrive completely makeup-free around the eye area.
This includes mascara, concealer, foundation, eye creams and any other products around the eyes. Your lashes need to be completely clean so the lifting and tinting solutions can work effectively.
Please also avoid mascara for 48 hours before your appointment. Even when lashes appear clean, product residue can remain on the hair and affect the lift.
Why no makeup around the eyes?
Your under-eye area also needs to be completely clean. During your treatment, under-eye pads are carefully placed beneath the eyes and need to adhere securely to the skin. Makeup, skincare or oils can prevent them from sticking properly, making the treatment less comfortable and affecting the precision of your appointment.
Avoid caffeine for 6 hours beforehand.
Coffee, tea, energy drinks and other caffeinated drinks can make the eyes more prone to flickering during the treatment, making it harder to work with precision.
Pregnancy & Hormonal Changes: Please let me know if you are pregnant or experiencing significant hormonal changes before your appointment. Hormonal fluctuations can alter the structure and growth cycle of the lashes, and during pregnancy some lashes can become more resistant to the lifting process. This may mean your usual result is more subtle or requires a different approach.
Your lash lift continues to settle during the first 24 hours, so treating your lashes gently during this time is essential. For the first 24 hours:
Avoid excess heat, steam and moisture, including saunas and very hot showers.
Do not touch, rub or manipulate your lashes.
Avoid applying products directly to your lashes or around the eyes.
Sleep on your back to prevent your lashes being pressed or bent.
After 24 hours, you can return to your normal routine, with a few exceptions:
Do not use lash curlers as they can weaken or damage the hair.
Avoid waterproof mascara as it is very drying + requires more vigorous removal, which can place unnecessary stress on the lashes.
A lash lift enhances your natural lashes, so keeping them conditioned and hydrated is an important part of maintaining their health. It’s worth understanding the difference between a growth serum and a conditioning serum.
Growth serums are designed primarily to support the lash growth cycle - they are not necessarily formulated to hydrate and condition the hair itself. For this reason, a growth serum should not be considered a replacement for proper conditioning.
